Major Responsibilities Held with the Group

Mr Parkin was appointed as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer in September 2022 and is responsible for the oversight and governance of the Group operations, project management and capability to deliver the business plan, and for the procurement and supply chain management group standards and sustainable procurement.  He also leads CLP’s occupational health, safety, and environment function.  Mr Parkin joined CLP in September 2015, and has served in several capacities including as Group’s Chief Operating Officer (from 2015 to 2019), leading mega projects execution and developing CLP’s project management capability.

 

Mr Parkin is also a Director of CLPe Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of the CLP Group.​

Past Experience

Mr Parkin has over 40 years of project, engineering and business management experience across Europe, Russia, Asia and South America.  Prior to joining CLP, Mr Parkin was the Chief Operating Officer / Chief Executive Officer of UK Coal and served on the executive board of power and gas giant E.ON UK for more than five years before being appointed as the Managing Director of New Build and Technology of EON (AG).

 

Earlier in his career, Mr Parkin worked in the mining and construction industry with a FTSE 100 company and worked on a number of major infrastructure projects worldwide, including the construction of the Hong Kong International Airport, the Channel Tunnel and Heathrow Terminal 5.
