Hong Kong uses imported fuels for its electricity generation and CLP has maintained a balanced fuel mix of nuclear, natural gas and coal to avoid over-reliance on any one source. This approach has enabled us to provide a safe, reliable and clean electricity supply at reasonable cost.
CLP entered the Mainland electricity sector in 1979 and has grown to become one of its largest external investors. We participate in the development, construction and operation of coal, nuclear, hydro, wind and solar energy projects.
EnergyAustralia is a wholly owned subsidiary of CLP and one of Australia's largest integrated energy businesses. EnergyAustralia has a diverse portfolio of generation assets including coal, natural gas and renewable energy, in addition to long-term power purchase agreements with wind and solar projects as well as battery storage systems. It is also a leading energy retailer serving households and businesses across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland.
Our joint venture Apraava Energy is focused on clean energy, power transmission and other customer-focused energy businesses.
CLP has built a number of assets in Taiwan Region and Thailand. We have taken a leading role in the development, construction and operation of coal-fired and solar projects.
